Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle on a 2 post lift (refer to Service Manual procedure 10000205).
NOTE: For Mobile Service, use Service Manual procedure 10000605 to raise the front end of the vehicle.
2. Remove the LH and RH front wheels (refer to Service Manual procedure 34015001).
3. Inspect the LH FUCA to steering knuckle joint:
a. Verify that the nyloc nut and bolt that attach the FUCA to the steering knuckle are present (Figures 1
and 2) and are torqued to 56 Nm.
b. Verify that the FUCA is fully seated and secured to the steering knuckle. Make sure that the FUCA stays
secured to the knuckle by firmly lifting the FUCA up from the steering knuckle (Figures 3 and 4).

4. Determine the following:
• If the FUCA to steering knuckle nyloc nut and bolt are present AND the joint is fully seated (Figure 1), skip
to step 8.
• If the FUCA to steering knuckle nyloc nut is missing AND the joint is fully seated (Figure 2), skip to step 7.
• If the FUCA is NOT fully seated onto the steering knuckle (Figure 4) regardless if the nyloc nut and bolt
are still attached, continue to the next step.
5. If the FUCA to steering knuckle nyloc nut and bolt are present:
a. Remove and discard the nyloc nut.
b. Compress the FUCA to steering knuckle joint (Figure 5).
c. Remove and discard the bolt (Figure 6).

6. Compress the FUCA to steering knuckle joint, and then install a new bolt.
7. Install a new nyloc nut to the bolt (Figure 7).

8. Tighten the nyloc nut and bolt (torque 56 Nm) (Figure 7).
9. Repeat steps 3–8 for the RH side.
10. Install the LH and RH wheels (refer to Service Manual procedure 34015001).
11. Lower the vehicle.
